Just finished these most spectacular drums. They are made from a 100 year old olive tree from Leguria Italy. I brought the wood home last year after a visit to the region. The bottom part is rosewood
Thank you for great show at the Wooden Boat Show in Olympia especially Barb and Cathy ( sorry forgot to take a picture) Come see us at the U-DISTRICT STREET FAIR in Seattle this weekend.
How about this one! Just finished 12" head X 25" tall, Organic spalted Elm from Rockport WA with sunray pattern of Locust from Everson WA. The tuning blocks are made from an old wine barrel. The tops of the blocks were on the inside and got the red stain from the wine.
I just got hold of some beautiful quarter sawn Maple with red/white transitions from my local sawer in Skagit Valley ....... and look how those drums come out..... Gorgeous !! They sell for my regular Western Maple price too!
Drumming to me is the opportunity, the possibility to make music with others right out of the box, if you wish. we have started many drumming groups and all that the participants had in common was that they plunked down 20$ to be there. 2 hours later voila! we were playing, together listening an finding the groove! Afterwards , talking we would discover that some had attended many classes while others had touched the drum for the first time... it didn't matter, in drumming we all listen we all learn we are all there!
Thats why I like drums
